Instructor: Dr. Colin Britt
Date of Master Class: March 1, 2021
Ages 18 & up
Tuition: $45 active participant (limited to 8), $10 observer
This virtual master class will explore how the form and shape of a song can help tell a story. Participants are invited to bring songs to workshop, and will have the opportunity to perform live on Zoom for fellow classmates; songwriters are also encouraged to bring original material! Colin will help you analyze, deconstruct, and interpret your songs with a deeper understanding of the songwriters' intent, while also working on telling your story. You'll also gain some new vocabulary for how to describe and explore your music, regardless of whether you're an experienced musician or a dedicated shower singer. Artists of all backgrounds, interests, and ages are welcome to attend; singers will be asked to send in a PDF of their music a minimum of one week prior to the class. Not a singer or songwriter but still interested in learning about the craft? Observers are welcome to participate without actually singing. All are welcome.
